Marylène Lizer

My name is Marylène and I was born and brought up in Paris, France. Even though I lived there for the first part of my life, I also lived in the States for many years as my husband was American and I became completely bilingual.

In France I studied at the University of Paris. I majored in English, phonetics, literature, and acquired translation skills. I also speak and write German and can read and write some Italian and Spanish. I have been teaching French for over 30 years, 19 of which at the prestigious Alliance française of Los Angeles (international French school and cultural center).

As I am completely bilingual, well versed in literature, as well as in French and English grammar, I can teach students of any level including at university level and help them prepare for their exams.

I enjoy teaching very much and I like to make learning fun and see my students improve in their French speaking and writing. Besides teaching French, I am also a translator and interpreter and have worked in that field for over 20 years.

I love languages, reading, music, movies and traveling.
